Sixth Form Centre, Hanley Castle High School, Worcestershire

A new two storey steel framed Sixth Form Centre with associated external works and drainage for Hanley Castle High School in Worcestershire.

We completed the civil and structural engineering design for the striking architectural design to suit planning constraints, resulting in the first-floor accommodation being provided within the complex steeply sloping hipped roof space.

A first-floor balcony provides outside space for the sixth form students to support sports events held on the adjacent school sports pitches.

The design and drawing were completed using 3D analysis software and Revit respectively, allowing visualisations of the roof structure to be produced, which significantly improved the clarity of the overall design solution for the contractor and steel fabricator.
