Mixed use development on a brownfield site in Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield.
The development comprised a courtyard development, on a former timber yard, to construct a mix of two and three storey buildings to provide retail, office and residential accommodation. The residential accommodation was a mix of townhouses and apartments.
Our scope of work included full civil and structural engineering detailed design of the various buildings, together with storm and foul drainage and the design of on site access roads, car parking and external works.
Structural solutions included load bearing masonry and steel framed solutions to suit the scale and layout of the various buildings on site.
Composite construction techniques were chosen for upper floors to suit the constrained site and the need to limit crane use due to adjacent public retail areas.
