We were employed by Speller Metcalfe as their Civil & Structural Engineers for the Phase 2 development of Campion School in Leamington Spa from RIBA stage 2 to 7.
The circa £7.5m project comprised a new build two-storey Sixth form building, located at the front of the school site to create a bold entrance statement to the school, the demolition and replacement of the existing sports hall and construction of new multi-use games area (MUGA).
Our scope extended to full Civil Engineering design from planning through to construction and included; production of a Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) and SuDS drainage strategy to support planning, the design of off-site s278 works to modify the approaches to the existing roundabout serving the school, on site access and car parks and detailed storm and foul drainage design.
Other associated works included flat roof replacement, the refurbishment and conversion of seven existing science rooms into general teaching spaces and converting the existing Forge into a Drama Studio and ‘Grad & Go’ refectory.
We worked very successfully and collaboratively with Speller Metcalfe, ADP Architects and Reeves Associates to BIM level 2. The project was delivered on time and to budget.
