Civil and Structural engineering design to complete the full accommodation provision for a new secondary Academy School, at Q3 Academy, Langley.
We had previously completed the design of a three storey extension to create a new three storey specialist teaching block and this phase completed the school.
The accommodation and scope of work included new build specialist classrooms, a sports hall dining room extension, theatre, MUGA and associated external works, car parking and storm and foul drainage.
The construction was effectively completed independently of the main school building, with the extensive break-through to several areas across the full rear elevations to the existing school buildings at various levels completed at the end of the construction programme to allow the school to remain open.
Our design was fully detailed in 3D to BIM level 2, which allowed the Contractor to fully understand the risks and scope of work required to seamlessly complete the structural connections and continuity required at each interface and level.
