Civil and Structural engineering design for a new development on the existing Browns Green site in Birmingham to provide an additional 100+ studios and one bed apartments for rent, together with Lettings Office Space. The development supplements the existing 377 apartments on site.
The site is located in Browns Green, close to the centre of Birmingham and forms part of the wider Hampstead Campus.
The new apartments are set in three contemporary accommodation blocks of four and five storey construction, nestled between the existing buildings and areas of leafy green open space.
Barnsley Marshall worked closely with the design team and main contractor to bring the contract in on budget under negotiated tender.
The new buildings are of load bearing masonry construction, with the five storey elements subject to some complex disproportionate collapse design and detailing, which was fully coordinated at design stage to ensure seamless construction on site.
